Speaker; Rev. Michael J. Thigpen is the Director of the Cultural Resource Center and Director of Multicultural Student services at Anderson University.

We will spend our time focusing on a crucial conversation: Race in the American Church. Through exploration, we will seek to understand the topics of bias, microaggressions and the path to spiritual reconciliation. The church has for too long found itself caught in the waves of societal compromise that constantly pulls at the thread in the seams of reconciliation. It’s not that the church desires disunity, but it is a complicated matter to choose unity over uniformity. The goals of the day will be to discuss the issues that often divide the church along racial lines, offer practical tools that each participant can apply to their personal development and provide resources to assist in deepening your churches cultural humility.
