One of the greatest challenges facing the church today is how to relate with LGBT+ persons without compromising our traditional Christian beliefs about gender, marriage, and sexuality. Much controversy and hurt has existed for many decades between the evangelical church and the gay community. If we believe that people matter to God and if we want to pass a biblical faith and Gospel to the next generation, then we have to tear down the walls we’ve created that are hindering us from engaging, welcoming, and sharing Christ with persons in the LGBT+ community.
You are invited to a workshop led by Ty Wyss and the Walls Down Ministry team (www.wallsdown.org) to help you grapple with creating a welcoming culture in your congregation without affirming same sex relationships, helping persons (especially students) navigate gender identity issues, and other similar issues. Ty and his team come with education in counseling psychology, pastoral experience and training, as well as their own personal LGBT+ stories and testimonies. Each are committed to a traditional sexual ethic and to helping the church love LGBT+ people generously.
