Karl Vaters is a small church strategist and pastor. He is a regular contributor to Christianity Today and the author of the books “Small Church Essentials” and “The Grasshopper Myth.” Karl has a deep passion for small churches (churches whose average attendance is 300 and below). He has been a Small Church Pastor for about 30 years, and for the last 20 years in his current church, Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Fountain Valley, California.
Most of our Church of God congregations fall in the “small church” range of 300 or below in attendance. Often those that lead workshops don’t come from the small church setting or understand the unique struggles that face small church pastors. Karl not only can speak to small church pastors and address their needs, he is one of them.
